Searching for shells by the shore
Is like searching pieces of my soul
I find some each day, and
Some more the next.
The patterns, the colors,
The shapes, the sizes,
The complexity, the simplicity.
Some are new,
Some acquainted with,
Some known since long.
Some that I love instantly and keep,
Some that I have loved and re-collect,
Some that I could keep or let go,
Some that I pick up, feel, remember and place back softly,
Some that I see and sense no expression,
Some that I miss and hope to find another day.
My timeless search is ignited by the sun each day,
Moved by the sea,
To find in the sand,
A part of me, endlessly.
